All of Raquy’s retreats focus on the Turkish split hand technique. Each retreat features a group piece, which will be performed as a group on the last night. There will also be group yoga and meditation to hone focus and relaxation. Nighttime activities include drumming around a bonfire under the stars. Room and board is included in the fee and participants will be spoiled with incredible vegan/vegetarian food from the organic garden on the premises.
For anyone new to dumbek, it’s recommended that you work with Raquy’s instructional kits, Dumbek Fever I, II and III -Available Here -prior to coming to the retreat.

Students come from all over the world to learn the amazing Turkish Split Hand technique from Raquy and many of the retreats feature her teacher master Turkish darbuka player Bunyamin Olguncan and other special guests such as Glen Velez.
The retreats offer workshops in composition, soloing, accompaniment, riq, frame drum and even yoga and meditation. Each retreat ends with a performance featuring the retreat participants.
Drummers of all levels are welcome, from professional players to those just beginning their drumming journey.
